Sian Enjoys Success with NVQ Level 3
A member of the Envirotech FM team is celebrating after successfully completing a vocational qualification signifying that she has the skills and knowledge to effectively manage a team.
Sian Hucker, who joined Envirotech FM in June 22 as a Service Desk Administrator, has recently qualified as an NVQ Team Leader or Supervisor Level 3 after the business supported her on the next step in her career development.
The NVQ Team Leader or Supervisor Level 3 course teaches responsibilities like supporting and developing team members, managing projects, planning workloads, and resolving issues, all within the parameters of an organisation’s procedures and goals. Commencing in 2023 and wholly funded by Envirotech FM, the qualification took 15 months to achieve, with opportunity provided during the regular working week for Sian to undertake coursework.
Sian said: “The NVQ Team Leader or Supervisor Level 3 has given me insight into aspects of management that I didn’t already have and has given me greater exposure to key skills and behaviours, such as effective communication, problem-solving, decision-making, team building, motivation, performance management, and understanding of relevant legislation.
“Since achieving the qualification, I definitely feel more validated in what I do on a day-to-day basis. Previously, I would act more on instinct but now I have that learned knowledge that I am doing the correct thing and that gives me a greater sense of self confidence.
“All in all, it has been a great experience, and I thank Envirotech FM for providing both the funding and time for me to complete what has been a really rewarding experience. I would definitely recommend it to others, as well as consider further formal education opportunities for myself.”
