Held 19–20 November 2025 at ExCeL London, EMEX 2025 reaffirmed its standing as the UK’s premier gathering for anyone serious about energy, sustainability and the future of smart buildings.

This year marked a pivotal shift — for the first time, EMEX expanded beyond traditional energy management to embrace the full spectrum of connected, smart, and digitally managed buildings. The new Smart Buildings & Built Environment Theatre joined the established line-up (Energy & Carbon Strategy; Net Zero & Sustainability; Flexible Networks; and more), signalling that smart building technology is now central to sustainability and FM conversations.

Over 3,500+ sector-professionals and decision-makers attended — energy managers, FM leaders, sustainability officers, smart-building integrators — all looking to source solutions, share insight, and act on decarbonisation targets.

Envirotech MD Pinder Singh Hujan Dip IoD & Operations Director Brody Finley attended EMEX to discover more on the latest technologies, topics and systems being used and discussed.
A few highlights found from the visit being:

🔹Smart building innovation – From advanced BMS platforms to intelligent sensors and IoTenabled systems, there was a clear focus on using real-time data to optimise performance, reduce waste, and improve occupant experience.
🔹Energy efficiency & decarbonisation tech – Exhibitors showcased solutions like high-efficiency HVAC, heat pumps, demand-side response, battery storage, and AI-driven optimisation tools aimed at lowering energy use and carbon emissions.
🔹Net-zero strategies – Many talks centred around practical pathways for organisations to meet net-zero goals, covering everything from renewable integration to energy monitoring, reporting, and compliance.
🔹AI & automation – A growing theme was the role of machine learning in predictive maintenance, fault detection, and automated control—helping buildings become smarter, more efficient, and more proactive.
🔹A standout BSI presentation by Mary Murphy, who broke down important points such as the global race to net zero, the practical steps for quantifying and reducing GHG emissions, differences between ISO 14060 and the GHG Protocol along with much more!

For anyone in facilities management, building services, property management or sustainability, EMEX 2025 wasn’t just an expo. It was a wake-up call: the future is smart, efficient, connected and built on sustainability

We look forward to applying some of these insights, and exploring new collaborations sparked from today’s conversations!
