Dragan secures NEBOSH General Certification
Facilities Manager Dragan Bogzaru oversees key locations across Central London, including Mayfair, City of London, Pimlico, Bloomsbury, and Hatton Garden, as well as EnvirotechFM’s Central London office at Oxford Circus!
He recently continued his impressive career progression by achieving NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), successfully completing the required units significantly ahead of the recommended schedule.
He explained: “I was keen to expand my knowledge of health and safety, which is such a huge part of my role and something that I can look to develop to make a positive impact for my clients on a day-to-day basis. Following internal consultations and recommendations, the proposal for me to undertake NEBOSH training was submitted to HR.
“The ball really started rolling from there and the business was very generous with its support, particularly in paying for me to undertake the qualification and being flexible in allowing me to progress coursework during the working day when convenient. Typically, accessing materials and completing all requirements takes considerable time, but with the company’s support, I successfully completed everything well ahead of the recommended schedule.”
Dragan has worked in Facilities Management since leaving university, but it wasn’t exactly something he had always considered. He explained: “I attended the University of Greenwich, where I studied Computer Science. Upon completing my degree, I was offered a three-month placement in Facilities Management with the incumbent service provider, supporting the team responsible for maintaining the buildings where I lived alongside 700 fellow students. This gave me a great insight into the role as I knew all the pressure points and the issues that we regularly faced in the buildings where we lived, studied and socialised. This personal experience enabled me to provide FM services with a more empathetic and personal approach.”
Dragan joined EnvirotechFM, the UK sustainable Facilities Management specialist, in May 2022 and he immediately noticed a positive difference. He explained: “In my previous role, I was employed by one of the top global leaders in the industry and, when moving to Envirotech FM, I really appreciated the opportunity to engage with senior management on a much more regular basis and I feel like I have the opportunity to develop as the business continues to grow.”
Dragan added: “For anyone who has the opportunity, I would definitely recommend seeking a NEBOSH qualification. I really enjoyed the process of learning and it was certainly eye opening, particularly regarding legislation and what can happen if things go wrong. I gained valuable knowledge about different types of risks and hazards in the workplace, as well as effective ways to prevent them. I am confident this will benefit my day-to-day role, and I am happy to share these insights with my team.”
NEBOSH Health, Safety and Environmental qualifications are globally recognised and taken by people working in all types of industries, as well as national and local government organisations. Their network of accredited Learning Partners deliver NEBOSH courses while supporting learners throughout their studies and assessments, helping make NEBOSH qualifications accessible to people anywhere in the world.
